Enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful country side of Hokkaido on your way to rest and relax at your very own Onsen Bath Experience! Yamahana Onsen is said to be the first hot spring to spring up in Kushiro. The spring quality is as salty as seawater, and the water warms the body from the inside out and keeps it warm for a long time.
Take your pick between Open Air Baths or Indoor Baths for this experience. Surrounded by stones on all sides, the open-air bath is different from the mountain baths. Low-growing greenery is planted on the sides, and the colors change with the seasons. For the indoor angular bath there are high ceilings and a sense of openness.
Also available are six different types of medicinal baths on a daily basis as well as a steam sauna with seven different aromas that change depending on the day of the week. After bathing, you can relax in the rest area and avail yourself of the drink corner.
Important notes:
Onsens are generally not tattoo friendly. For guests with small tattoos, you’re all set. If you have large tattoos, please let us know ahead of time, and we’ll provide cover patches for you. Each pack of 3 patches costs ¥1,500, with each patch covering an area of 70x115mm.
Also, please note that most onsen in Japan do not allow any swimwear. Guests will need to bathe nude, with separate facilities available for men and women.
