Our journey starts on the 14th April. The ship will leave at 5pm, check-in will be between 10:00am and 3.30pm. The check-in process can take a while, so make sure you arrive early if you only make your way to Malaga on the day of departure.

In general we can encourage you to stick around for about two weeks after the cruise and discover Athens and Greece together with us. More details will follow soon on informal meet-ups we are going to organize there.

A few days after your booking you will receive an e-mail containing your invoice from WebWorkTravel. Please review the invoice and pay the outstanding amount the latest until the 13th of February (16th of February if you pay via bank transfer).

In case you can’t find the invoice please check your promotions/spam folders before asking us to resend it to you.

We will send you your ticket 3 weeks before departure. Although Pullmantur implied that tickets on smartphones should be sufficient, we still recommend printing your tickets. It may also help when accessing the port territory.

We have launched the official trip-related Facebook group, where you guys can connect, exchange travel plans, and get in touch with the workshop organizers.

Nomad Cruise cannot be held liable for insufficient visas. You must research if with your nationality you need a visa to enter the territory of the European Union.

We’ve decided to offer all Nomad Cruisers the option to purchase travel insurance starting at as little as 25€. You’ll be covered for all the big ticket items like medical assistance on board and repatriation should you become injured or ill. The policy also includes payouts for any disability that was incurred while on the cruise. You can see all of the coverage details below.

You may bring as much luggage on board as your flight company allows you to. You can’t bring your pet, your car or your bike. You will check your luggage in during check-in. It will then be dropped in front of your cabin door.

We have been on five cruises by now, and they all have been a little bit different. Our recommendations are based on our experience, and obviously, you know best what you will need on top of that.

For the Conference

• Bring your own pens and paper. Yes, we’re all super digital and stuff, but honestly, taking notes on paper sometimes is just more convenient.
• Bring your own power adapters (Type B and Type C)
• Bring a multi-socket.
• Bring all the material you may need for a meetup or mastermind session. We will provide the material for speakers of the curated program.

For Cruise Life

• Bring jackets, wraps or thin scarves for the evening jam sessions on board.
• You can wear what you wish to wear, however after 7 pm they don’t allow flip flops or bathing shorts in the restaurant. There will be at least one Captain’s Dinner, where many of the general passengers will dress up more or less glamorously. You choose whether or not you want to go all suit and tie or cocktail dress.
• There have been themed nights before. ‘All white’, ‘Tropical’, ‘Pirates’, ‘Rock’n’Roll’, ’70ies’ and so on. We usually don’t stick to the rules more than necessary, but if you really care: prepare for this.
• Bring one or two swimsuits. With all the networking and socializing and conference going on, you will enjoy some downtime at the pool.
• Bring sunscreen and an umbrella – you never know which one you will need on a spring day.
• Bring your own meds. We are not allowed to give out any medication. We recommend a carry-on pharmacy with bandaids, cold-meds, Ibuprofen, Voltaren, motion sickness meds, and the like. Bring hand sanitizer. Pullmantur puts up dispensers as well, and we highly encourage using it. In a narrow space like a boat, germs spread quickly, and it’s on you to do what you can to stay healthy. For the female members of the group, we recommend bringing tampons. Everything you have to buy on board will be ridiculously expensive. And parents: bring enough diapers.
• Bring books, music, small board games.

For Malaga

• Don’t forget to print your ticket for entering the port and for check-in.
• Located on the coast of Andalusia, in southern Spain, Malaga has a mediterranean climate. Spring is mild and sunny – it’s the perfect season for walking and hiking in the region. Bring clothes according to a 16°C daily average temperature.
• The currency in Spain is Euros.

For Greece

• The climate of Greece is Mediterranean on the coasts and islands with a pleasant and sunny spring. In April-May the daily maximum temperature is around 20 °C that can cool down to 13 °C during the nights so make sure you pack some extra layers too.
• The currency in Greece is Euros.

Two nights before departure (on the 12th April) we are organizing an exclusive dinner for speakers and workshop leaders. This special event is a great opportunity to get to know each other already before we set sail, and to engage in exciting conversations with fellow speakers.

Please book your flights accordingly – we can’t wait to see you there!

For planning your trip, we suggest you to arrive up to 3 days prior to the cruise in Malaga. Most cruisers will do so, to already get to know each other and to experience the Spanish beach town at its best.

We would also recommend to stick around our destination up to two weeks after the cruise so you have time to explore the Greek islands and Athens together with other cruisers.

In order to find the best deals to get to Malaga and continue your travels from Athens, we recommend flight search engines like Google flights, Skyscanner or Kiwi.

We recommend to book your accommodation close to the harbour and the Old Town of the city. That way it’s easy to meet up with other participants and also get to the harbour on the day of our departure.

If you’d like to stay in the same hostel with other participants we recommend to book Alcazaba Premium Hostel.

If you prefer a Hotel we recommend Hotel Venecia close to the Harbour.

It’s become a Nomad Cruise tradition to organize a farewell evening the night before departure – usually at a rooftop bar. It’s a great opportunity to meet the first nomads so we highly recommend you to join. We will share all details about the party in our Facebook group that we open 30 days before departure.

There are three main meals. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet style. There is a big variety of fruits, veggies, salads, meats, starchy sides and desserts. We dine in the à-la-carte restaurant. You can choose from a couple of different options for a three-course meal.

There is always at least one vegetarian option, and gluten and lactose free menus have also just been implemented on board. In addition to the offers on this menu, the culinary team will be happy to adjust dishes from the daily regular menu to your dietary needs, always with a 24 hour in advance order to your Waiter/Maître.

If you are vegan, gluten and/or lactose intolerant, please let us know beforehand so we can communicate this to the ship and order your meals separately.

All basic drinks on the cruise are included. However, you can enjoy high-end brands if you opt for the premium package that you can arrange to book on board at € 10 a day.

1) All Inclusive: no extra charge

As we won’t be spending more than one day on the high seas, so you can expect to have access to reliable internet every 24 hours at least. As for the sea days…well, let’s say the wifi is not exactly fiber optic. We faced a different situation on each trip, so it’s hard to make a general statement. During Nomad Cruise III and it was quite steady, but there were one or two days where it was a little too slow for anything. On Nomad Cruise IV it was good most of the times, but wasn’t working at all for 3 days. We’ve become very cautious after the wifi-connection completely collapsed on NC II – too many of us used it at the same time.

We recommend being prepared. Don’t expect anything – appreciate everything is pretty much the ideal strategy here. While this sounds like a total downer, we were surprised to learn, that a large number of participants used all of NC III for a digital detox and focused on making connections with the others on board. They only ever logged in during island stops and other than that kept their devices off. They reported a positive change in their behavior, increased their level of relaxation, and many said that it felt like the first true vacation in years.

Cruising close to the beautiful Southern coastline of Europe and stopping frequently at amazing places also mean that roaming is available whenever we are on land. If you need internet access more often than that, the bad news is that Satellite Internet doesn’t come cheap. There is also an unlimited wifi plan available, and you can get online for about €12/$14 per day. To get the unlimited pack, you will have to pay the €12/$14 per day for each day of the cruise from the first day you buy it until our arrival and can only access the wifi with one device at a time.

The ship does offer a laundry service, but it’s quite expensive. We suggest you wait for a special deal. Every couple of days Pullmantur offers a special for their participants. Calculate between €15-30 per medium load.

We will stop at 5 different locations during our trip and organize excursions like walking tours, wine tasting and helicopter flights on some of the islands.

We have a few important points for you to bear in mind before you do:

• In order to guarantee availability for your tour, you need to book your excursions before departure.
• We have limited spots for each excursion, so we suggest you to book fast before the seats fill up.
• We are making arrangements based on the number of applications, therefore if plans change and you cannot attend for any reason, we sadly won’t be able to make any refunds. We are happy to change the names though if you find another participant instead of you.
• You can only book one excursion per day, because they do overlap in time.

Besides the paid excursions, we will have an official Nomad Cruise meeting point at each destination.

Meet-ups are the core of the self-organized part of the program. YOU decide what they look like and what they are about. You can use the communication walls to communicate your suggestion.

We’re organizing our first Mastermind Day on Nomad Cruise 6. This will be a unique one day event and more information on it will follow shortly. 

For the first time in Nomad Cruise’s history, we are organizing the night of failure, where the speakers will tell us about the biggest failures they experienced, the most important lessons they learnt, and how they got back up and tried again. And again. And again.

More than 200 Nomads make a pretty large group. Hence it is very important to us to break the ice early with networking games and morning surprises.

The disembarkation can be about as dragging as the embarkation. You will have to place your big luggage items outside your cabin by 3 am on the last night before arrival. People check-out according to the color of their bag tag. All Nomads will have the same bag tag color. You need one tag for every bag. Bags without tag will automatically be transferred to the airport. Trust us, we have experience with that.

We recommend to stay in the city center of Athens. That’s where you’ll find most hotels and it will be easier to meet up with each other after the cruise.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, centrally located hostel in Athens we recommend to spend your first nights at City Circus, or alternatively you can find the more upmarket Attolos Hotel nearby if you prefer to have more privacy.

If you have the time, we recommend you to book two additional weeks in your calendar and stick around in Greece. After discovering Athens, we will organize more meet-ups on a Greek island. Later on, you can team up with your new fiends and travel together to different places in Greece and around Europe.
